Overview

Nortal Germany is expanding its consulting capability in partnership with MACH, one of the leading providers of ERP solutions for the German public sector. To support our long-term growth and high-impact digitalization projects, we are hiring

 

  • Financial Management ERP Consultant (meinERP) &
  • Municipal Financial Consultant (K1 Software)

 

Both roles combine strong financial process expertise with an interest in software, public sector transformation, and client advisory.

This is a unique opportunity to join a new, rapidly developing consulting area within Nortal and help shape the future of public sector finance and digitalization in Germany.

Responsibilities

You will support public sector clients in modernizing their financial processes, implementing MACH software solutions, and guiding them through organizational and digital transformation initiatives.

Analysis & Consulting

  • Analyze current financial processes in public sector organizations and identify opportunities for optimization
  • Translate requirements into functional concepts and configurations for MACH financial software
  • Support digitalization topics such as e-invoicing, budgeting, cash operations, fixed assets, and reporting

End-to-End Implementation

  • Manage work packages throughout the consulting lifecycle:
    requirements → configuration → testing → go-live → application support
  • Collaborate closely with MACH consultants and Nortal colleagues on joint projects
  • Conduct testing activities and ensure high-quality delivery

Client Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for functional and process-related questions
  • Lead workshops and training sessions for end users
  • Build trusting, professional, and goal-oriented relationships with stakeholders
  • Present complex topics clearly and adapt communication style to your audience

 

Qualifications

You bring a strong combination of financial expertise, IT affinity, and consulting mindset.
You may have experience from:

  • Public administration or municipal finance (e.g., Kämmerei, Stadtkasse, Finanzämter)
  • Accounting, controlling, audit, or financial operations
  • ERP or financial management systems (e.g., SAP FI/CO, Dynamics, MACH, or similar)
  • Digitalization projects, software implementations, or functional consulting roles

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Strong understanding of financial processes such as:
    • Budgeting and fund management
    • Cash operations
    • Fixed asset accounting and cost accounting
    • Taxes, fees, and charges
    • Double-entry accounting or cameralistics
    • Annual statements, balance sheets, and reporting cycles
  • Degree in public administration, business/economics, finance, or related vocational training
  • Basic understanding of IT systems and confidence working with financial software
  • Independent, analytical, and structured working style
  • Strong client orientation, communication skills, and “stress-smartness”
  • Excellent German language skills (C2) and good English
  • EU citizenship (required for project and training compliance)
